A Backyard Style Ultra to the Pinnacle of Newport NH,

How it works. Every hour on the hour, you must complete a trek to the Pinnacle (running or hiking). The trip will be a 2.2ish Mile loop with 500 feet of elevation gain on the trip up to the top. You must be in the starting gate at the top of every hour to keep competing, otherwise you are out. If you have a duo team, you teammate has to be down past the finish line before the hour is up, or they will be disqualified, and the teammate will have to do the rest of your laps. We won't have any official winners, merely finishers. A solo finisher will complete approx 27 miles in 12 hours.
Duos may alternate laps, or choose any method of competing, as long as one of them is in the chute to start the next lap on time.
A 2pm Start time is planned, and the last lap will go out at 1:00 AM. You will be camping at the start finish area, and will have to lug all your gear needed for your event up to the camping spot (about 300 yards from parking lot) Bring all you need for a nights sleep (you are not required to spend the night) and to compete for 12 hours.
We plan to have some food available, but you will need your own calories and hydration while you compete. We will have a small fire until the wee hours of the morning. A long sleeve techwick T will be given to all registrants. The registation will be capped at 75 competitiors due to camping limitations. Camping is rustic, backpack tent camping. Self contained RV's and vans can park in the parking lot.
